dog boarding

Dog boarding at dogs of the dunes is intentionally different from traditional doggy daycares or kennel-style facilities. We offer home-based, thoughtfully managed boarding designed to prioritize safety, emotional well-being, and routine—so your dog feels secure, supported, and cared for while you’re away.

Our availability is flexible, and check-in times are accommodated throughout the day, a benefit that applies to many of our services. Every dog in our care is handled with patience, kindness, and professionalism by experienced, certified pet care providers.

what our dog boarding includes

Boarding with us is about more than supervision—it’s about providing a calm, enriching experience in a home environment.

Boarding includes:

  • Meet & greet in your home for new clients
  • Indoor and outdoor playtime, structured appropriately for each dog
  • Daily enrichment and a walk
  • Photos or videos during your dog’s stay
  • Compassionate, certified staff providing attentive care
  • Pick-up and drop-off available for your convenience

Check-out time is 10:00 AM. Returns after 10:00 AM will incur a full-day boarding rate.

where your dog sleeps

Dogs stay in a quiet, climate-controlled home environment, not a kennel. Sleeping arrangements may include a cozy room with beds, blankets, and pillows, or a spacious crate with a comfortable bed and constant access to fresh water—based on your dog’s needs and comfort level.

A trained, experienced caregiver is always on-site overnight to supervise and ensure safety and security.

*Pets must be able to be kenneled without excess stress or have appropriate medication on hand to maintain comfort as all dogs are kenneled when no one is home.

feeding, medical, & special care needs

We are experienced in accommodating dietary restrictions, medications, mobility limitations, and senior dogs. Please bring an adequate supply of your dog’s food and let us know about any specific care requirements so we can ensure a smooth stay.

You’re also welcome to send a favorite toy, bed, or blanket to help your dog feel at home.

Board + Train Includes:

  • Three 1-hour training sessions per day (21 hours/week)
  • Three decompression (non-training) walks/hikes per week
  • One 2-hour coaching session upon return

  • 90-minute follow-up coaching session (within 6 weeks of return)

Safety & Ethics

Safety is a top priority at dogs of the dunes. All trainers are Pet CPR certified, and we are committed to ethical, science-based care. We do not use aversive tools or force-based methods.

We believe clarity, communication, and mutual understanding between humans and dogs lead to better outcomes—and reduce fear, burnout, and stress for everyone involved.

a note on play & cleanliness

Dog play can get messy, and your dog may need to be bathed before returning home. Please let us know if your dog struggles with handling or bathing so we can plan accordingly.

Whether you’re traveling for a weekend or investing in training support, your dog always has a safe, supportive place at dogs of the dunes.
